Me, as I was putting Landon's plate down in front of him: "Landon, please push your sleeves up so they don't get dirty."

Landon: "I know that. Please don't say that to me, because I can do it without you getting me in trouble."

(I then told him he wasn't in trouble, that I was just asking him to push his sleeves up. He insisted that I had gotten him in trouble.)

"There's going to be a mergency today, Mommy. If the mergency wakes you up, there's going to be a mergency for a liiiiiitle, little while. Then it won't be a mergency anymore. And tomorrow there will be a mergency, too. And the trees will light up and it will be a mergency - every day there will be a mergency! AAAND, after all that, his empty cup went flying off the table. I asked him why he threw it and he said he didn't, that the cup just popped off the table and fell on the floor. Riiiiiiight.

Nutter Mutters - 9/17/11

Mommy (holding 5 fingers up): "Landon, how many fingers am I holding up?"

Landon (without missing a beat): "A lot."

I got him to count them, and we kept doing more examples.  He decided he wanted ME to count how many fingers HE was holding up, and was amazed at how fast I got his first try.  He then held two fingers up, but covered them with his other hand so I couldn't see and figure it out as quickly as I had the first time!  A few more examples later, he held up one finger... the middle one.  So yeah, my son flipped me off.

Landon wanted to watch Spiderman on Netflix, but it was the adult version.  I told him no because it was too scary for him.  He said, "But Mommy, Spiderman rescues people when they are in trouble.  That's not scary."  I had to explain that the bad guys were scary.  :)

We had Parent Involvement at the kids' school today. At first, I went to Kelsey's room while Justin went to Landon's room. After Kelsey's activity was finished, I took Kelsey down to join the guys. Kelsey really enjoyed using the big kids' crayons. Her little hand was so adorable reaching for them and putting them back when she was finished. :)

Nutter Mutters - 9/9/11

Landon, telling me what he wants to teach Kelsey when she gets bigger, "I want to learn her how to write. I want to learn her how to swim. I want to learn her how to be nice to people..."

At this point he keeps going on and on and on about other things he wants to "learn" her. I tune out. When I tune back in, I hear, "I want to learn her how to be a garbage man. I want to learn her how to bounce on houses..."

Landon and I were reading Gertrude McFuzz before bed tonight. There's a part where it mentions something about falling down dead, and Landon repeated me in his goofy tone, "Deeeaaad? Did that say, Dead?" So I asked him what dead means. He said, "It means the power light is off."
